Do these guitars even need a description?
This is an excellent example of why these guitars are one of the icons of the Hofner range.

Large 17.5" body with a solid spruce carved top, beautiful birdseye maple back with the intricate leaf inlay and birdseye maple sides. 5 piece laminated maple/mahogany neck. The 1959 models still had the large headstock and no truss rod. They introduced the truss rod in 1960 and the headstock got reduced in size in 1963. All original with the only exception being the nut, this has been changed at some point but is inconsequential as there is a 0 fret. I have also noted a couple of holes on the fretboard tang that have been filled, this is probably due to a pickup being mounted there at some point, a common mod for these guitars. Considering this guitar is 66 years old, it is in fantastic condition. Now it does show some player marks/dings, some of the machine heads buttons are missing their corners and there is the start of a crack starting to form on the heel (common Hofner problem), it seems solid though and has no wiggle. I have also noted that the bridge has previously been shaved down, by far not the worst I have seen on some of these vintage guitars and the action is great. It may need a reset at some point and the crack addressed at the same time, (I could do the work if required). I have taken various photos of the marks and the neck - in the gallery below Comes with a Gator hardcase Asking for £1400
