Woodcraft and  music were a constant throughout my school life. But it wasn't until I began studying stringed Instrument making at Anniesland college,  that I really knew what my calling in life was. Here I was initially under the tutealage of the brilliant Scottish Luthier 'Bill Kelday'...

I keep my making very traditional, utilising hide glue, favouring hand tools and using simple rope/wedges for clamping. Every wooden element is handmade by myself, all aesthetic details, rosettes, purfling, binding and all internal components. Rarely repeating design elements, so every guitar is unique. 
I build both Nylon & Steel String guitars, but it is Spanish methods of construction that I favour for all my builds.
